Thriving on Paleo

Maria-Lucimar-Pereira-

“The secret to long life might be found in the Amazon.  Survival International, an indigenous rights organization, is claiming that Maria Lucimar Pereira is preparing to celebrate what some claim is her 121st birthday — an achievement that would make her the world’s oldest person. Pereira, a member of the Kaxinawa tribe, speaks only her tribal language, reports The International Business Times.  Pereira maintains a healthy lifestyle by consuming a diet of fresh fish, banana porridge, root vegetables, and grilled meat, but she also avoids salt, sugar and processed foods, reports Care2.com.”

– Story from the Huffington Post.  Since she doesn’t have a birth certificate, there is no way to 100% determine if her age is accurate at 121 years old to be confirmed as the longest living person by the Guiness Book of World Records.
