Getting Ready for the Paleo Challenge 1/30/2012!

Are diet and exercise not enough?  Do you say “you’ve tried everything,” but you can’t lose those final pounds?

Your diet and exercise truly aren’t enough, and you haven’t tried everything.  However, instead of owning up to your food addiction, you seek professional advice. It seems the problem always ends up turning out to be some type of a hormone malfunction.  Professionals don’t want to hurt your feelings, but as you may know, I’m not interested in your feelings: YOU ARE THE MALFUNCTION.

The “It’s not me, it’s my hormones” syndrome needs to lay to rest.  It is you and your hormones are messed up because of the crappy food you continue to eat.  If you are not happy with your figure, your emotions, your athleticism, your “insert issue here,” then you need to stop and smell the meat and vegetables.

LET’S GET STARTED.

  1. Go through your cabinets and throw your junk away.  If you can’t throw it away, try to give it away. All in all, don’t tell me you haven’t thrown away meat and veggies after sitting in your fridge for too long, so let’s elaborate on the money you’re really wasting- junk food +meat and veggies thrown in the trash + diabetes medication OR  meat and veggies.
  2. Get ready for the market and budget your food.  Paleo doesn’t have to be that expensive.  If you’re confused in the grocery store, then stick to MEAT and VEGGIES.  This is logical, you shouldn’t need help going to the grocery store.  If you question a food, write it down and then google it.
  3. Have a family meeting and let everyone know they are on board with you.  Firstly, if your husband or wife cares about you, they will do it with you. And,  don’t even ask me what you’re kids are supposed to eat.  Paleo is about WELLNESS; it’s not a diet.  They need paleo just as much as you do.  When they gripe, they’ll get over it eventually.
  4. Your social life.If you can’t participate in a 30 day food challenge because you fear you’ll lose friends, then those people shouldn’t be your friends. If you can’t participate because you like alcohol too much, then you’re an alcoholic.
