Sweet Tooth

Do you remember when you were small? Maybe, maybe not. But since you had your first birthday, your parents most likely put cake in front of you and that was the beginning of the end.  Cake is delicious, candy is wonderful, dessert after dinner is spectacular, and your daytime getaway with a piece of chocolate is the only way to overcome the last few hours at work.  These days, elementary school lunches come with pizza (is this the grains category? some protein and veggie, too?…), corn (not a vegetable), peaches (can you really call canned peach a fruit? Perhaps…), and a piece of cake.  Besides wondering why kids all over America are struggling with health issues; now that you’re getting older, you have to go back to the beginning to your very first birthday.  The first time you ever put something so Freaking Sweet into your mouth.

For a second, imagine one thing.  What if you were never given a taste of something sweet. Would you want it right now? Perhaps, Mom ate it while you were in her belly.  Were you Born with a Sweet tooth? How could you prove such a spectacular idea.

Regardless, I’d like to think that it just takes a CRAP-TON of Will Power to overcome these obstacles.  Wouldn’t you say that to someone struggling from alcohol addiction?  Would you give an alcoholic a drink because they ought to just live a little? One sip won’t hurt?  YAH. IT Will.  One sip turns into a hundred sips and a really bad night. Women: don’t tell me you havn’t eaten way too much of whatever it was that one night and regretted those 100 bites!

If you love your life the way it is, your body the way it is, your moods and emotions the way they are, your go-to’s when you’re struggling emotionally, then this article is Not for you.  However, if you are eager to change, hating the way you use food as a getaway, wishing you were thinner, more toned, and healthier in general, then it’s OK to have those goals.

The going saying in the gym is, “suck less.”

You must stay strong if you are trying to change your life.   If you give in, you’re just a sucker.
