The Bestest, Cheapest, Fastest, Crunchiest Snack. KALE CHIPS – There are many great reasons why I love Paleo Pitch-Ins at the gym. First, I get to see everyone all cleaned up with nice looking hair and the dirt is scrubbed off their hands. Secondly, it’s a great opportunity to try foods you wouldn’t have even though of before! During our last pitch in, Michele Y. brought Kale Chips. They were a DIVINE snack, crunchy and mildly salty like a potato chip. Michele shared the recipe on the Hoosier CrossFit Facebook Wall, and now I’m sharing it on the Blog for Archiving!
1 bunch kale (approx. 8 oz.)
1 TBSP olive oil
1 pinch salt/salt to taste
Optional: pinch of cayenne, garlic salt, or whatever spice you’d like…
Preheat oven to 300*.
Rinse & dry kale, remove stems & center ribs, and cut into large pieces. Then toss in a large bowl w/olive oil & salt, etc. Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet and pop ’em in for 20 minutes. Voila!
What’s a KALE CHIP good for?
You can put it in a small baggy and ration it throughout the week if you are a student.
You can carry some in your purse and sneak it into the movie theater.
You can enjoy it as a midnight snack.
You can take it on road trips.
You can put it in your husband’s lunch box with his other primal Goodies.
I made them for the first time today and I want you to try it out ASAP!
