Why is Whole Grain Healthy for You?

First.  I don’t judge.  When someone says their healthy, I just go with it.  It’s an honest opinion, and frankly, I always thought orange juice, whole grain anything, and a yogurt was healthy until I did a little more reading.  What didn’t know was that Big companies are feeding off you by promoting the *healthier option*, not necessarily the *healthy option*.  They are making tons of money off their gimmicks – don’t eat breakfast and lunch and get all your nutritional needs in our Breakfast Shake!  Ugh. Take a look at the picture below.  It’s a caption from Robb Wolf’s The Paleo Solution.

As you can see, whole grains are quite lacking compared to fruits, veggies, and meats.  You look at Paleo…WHAT NO DAIRY?! HOW DO YOU GET CALCIUM.  Go to the graph.  WHAT NO GRAINS?! HOW DO YOU GET YOUR FIBER?!  Don’t Fret. It’s in your paleo meal plan.  Special K is going with a “Get Fit with Fiber” campaign.  High fiber + exercise = weight loss.  Double Ugh.
